There are two kinds. Questions buyers ask
Why does a rubber strap have curved ends?
A watch case is rounded between the lugs. A fitted rubber strap is moulded to that shape, so it closes the gap a straight strap leaves and looks like it came with the watch. That is also why each fitted strap only fits the case it was made for. A universal strap has straight ends: it fits any watch with the right lug width and leaves a small gap at the case.
Which rubber strap fits my watch?
The fitted strap with a folding clasp fits the 40 mm Rolex Submariner of 2010–2020 (116610LN, 114060 and the other 40 mm references). The FKM strap with a butterfly clasp fits the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M (42 mm, 2018 on). The curved strap with a pin buckle fits every MoonSwatch. The waffle diver strap fits any watch with 20 or 22 mm between the lugs.
Fitted or universal: which rubber strap should I choose?
Choose a fitted strap if we make one for your watch: it looks factory-made. Choose the universal waffle diver strap for any other watch with 20 or 22 mm between the lugs, or when you want colour: it comes in 8 colours, from black and navy to yellow and orange.
Silicone, FKM or TPU rubber: what is the difference?
FKM is the premium one: dense, dust-resistant, and it never turns sticky. Silicone is soft and supple. TPU is light and hard-wearing. All three are waterproof and easy to clean.
Can I swim with a rubber strap?
Yes. Rubber does not mind water or sweat: rinse it in fresh water after the sea or a pool and let it dry. Check your watch's own water resistance before you swim.
How do I fit a rubber strap?
Take the old strap or bracelet off with a spring-bar tool, then fit the rubber strap with the spring bars that come with it, until they click into the lug holes. A fitted strap goes on one way only, with the curve against the case.
