Alessandro Conti
Founder & Creative Director
“We are living in the age of plastic. My goal with The Archive was to return to the age of steel.”
Alessandro Conti is the principal curator and founder of The Archive Project (BestWallClock). Operating between Verona and Dubai, Conti has spent the last decade consulting on industrial metallurgy and mid-century object restoration before turning his focus to large-format horology.
Frustrated by the “hollow” nature of modern interior design, he established the studio with a singular directive: to bridge the gap between the precision of Swiss wrist instrumentation and the scale of architectural design.
The Philosophy of Weight
“Weight is the only un-fakeable metric in manufacturing. A photograph can lie; gravity cannot. When a client lifts an Archive Spec clock, they feel the 1.2kg of milled 304L Stainless Steel. That density communicates more than any logo ever could. It is the difference between a toy and a timekeeping instrument.”
The Verona Standard
Under Conti’s direction, The Archive rejects the industry standard of injection-molded composites. Every piece is commissioned to strict “Dealer Specifications”—a set of tolerances originally designed for authorized dealer showrooms, not residential use.
- 01. MATERIALITY: Solid 304L Stainless Steel casing.
- 02. CLARITY: High-grade Mineral Glass (Non-Acrylic).
- 03. MOVEMENT: High-Torque Silent Sweep Calibration.
Today, Alessandro oversees the curation of the “Archive Essentials” collection, serving a private client list that includes automotive showrooms, architectural firms, and discerning collectors across Europe and the Middle East.
